SHOFU offers dental professionals BEAUTIBOND Xtreme, a new light-curing, self-etch, all-in-one, universal adhesive for Bonding direct and indirect restorations.
Just like its predecessor BEAUTIBOND Universal, this adhesive is characterised by excellent bond strengths, low technique sensitivity and convenient application in one step. But users no longer require an activator or enhancer for certain restorative materials.
BEAUTIBOND Xtreme will play to its strengths wherever strong bonds are needed. An innovative silane coupling agent “ARS” (Acid Resistant Silane coupling agent) makes the chemical composition highly stable. Without an additional primer, this adhesive reliably bonds a wide variety of restoratives to Enamel and dentin. It does not matter whether tooth surfaces are wet or dry or what etching technique is used.
Besides Bonding direct and indirect restorations, BEAUTIBOND Xtreme can also be used in cementing root posts, creating core build-ups, repairing fractured restorations or sealing tooth preparations.
Thanks to the ergonomic design of the dispensing bottle, opening, dispensing and closing can be done with just one hand. The nozzle has been specially designed to deliver very small drops (approx. 260 per bottle), ensuring economical dispensing with only minimal loss of material.
BEAUTIBOND Xtreme allows users to etch, prime and bond quickly and reliably in one step. Inconvenient work steps, such as shaking or mixing and repeated application, have been eliminated, so Bonding is fast and dependable.
BEAUTIBOND Xtreme adapts very well to surfaces and can be applied precisely. The adhesive film is only approx. 5 μm thick, which makes this filler- and HEMA-free adhesive the system of choice, particularly for minimally invasive dentistry and highly aesthetic restorations.
BEAUTIBOND Xtreme can be stored at temperatures between 1 and 25 °C without degradation. It does not have to warm up to room temperature before use but can be used immediately.
Etch, prime and bond in one step!
The trend in the development of adhesive systems is to improve adhesion while simplifying clinical manipulation steps. Along with that, the use of universal adhesives has been increasing and its performance has been reported to be clinically sufficient.
With BEAUTIBOND Xtreme, SHOFU continues to evolve the latest Generation of a true universal adhesive. By introducing a new type of Acid Resistant Silane coupling agent (ARS), a chemical composition with excellent stability has been designed to allow the surface treatment of a wide range of adherends with an easy-to-use system.
BEAUTIBOND Xtreme is a light-curing, self-etching all-in-one universal adhesive for Bonding direct and indirect restorations. It has "inherited" the excellent properties of the former BEAUTIBOND Universal Bonding system, such as bond strength, low technique sensitivity, convenient application and simplified one-step application procedure.

Improved properties thanks to quadra-functional monomer technology
The excellent bond strengths to natural tooth structure and various dental materials provided by BEAUTIBOND Xtreme are supported by its four functional monomers including ARS ("Acid Resistant Silane") coupling agent and phosphate ester monomer and others. Thanks to no filler and no HEMA formulation, BEAUTIBOND Xtreme has good hydrolysis stability.
Conventional silane coupling agent contained in one-bottle adhesive system undergoes hydrolysis by the acidic monomers in the bottle during storage, and thus reduces adhesion to glass ceramics and composite resin.
The unique ARS coupling agent has a protective structure against attacks from acidic monomers, therefore, long-term storage stability can be expected by suppressing hydrolysis. The protective structure is removed when the concentration of acidic monomers increases by air drying after application. This activates ARS, exerting the silane coupling effect. The freshly activated ARS coupling agent warrants an optimal bond with ceramic restorations preventing degradation even with prolonged storage.
Strong bond with less technical sensitivity
No filler and no HEMA formulation suppress viscosity of the adhesive and help to easily separate and remove water solvent by air drying, providing a thin uniform hydrophobic adhesive layer with excellent marginal aesthetics clinically. This eliminates risk of allergies and bond hydrolysis, assuring a reliable, strong bond with less technical sensitivity and minimised chair time.

High Bonding strength to Enamel and Dentine
In internal comparative shear bond test using the notched-edge method according to ISO 29022:2013, BEAUTIBOND Xtreme has been shown to provide higher bond strengths to Enamel and Dentine than competitor universal adhesives, both initially and following artificial aging with thermocycling process.
Offering the advantage of quick and reliable etching, priming and Bonding in one step, BEAUTIBOND Xtreme is an effective and durable alternative to multibottle adhesive systems.
