Features:
Variolink® Esthetic is a color stable adhesive cementation system for the permanent cementation of composite and ceramic restorations.

Variolink Esthetic comes in a purely light-curing version (Variolink Esthetic LC) and a Dual-curing version (Variolink Esthetic DC).

The special filler particle composition gives Variolink Esthetic a high radiopacity.

Variolink Esthetic colors are based on the effect that the Luting composite has on the value of the final restoration. Variolink Esthetic Neutral does not affect the value of the restoration and is the most translucent color. The Light and Light + colors achieve a brighter restoration, while Warm and Warm + create an overall impression of less luminosity. In order to evaluate the full effect of the restoration in conjunction with the different Variolink Esthetic colors before permanent cementation, we recommend the use of Variolink Esthetic try-in pastes.

Composition:
The Variolink Esthetic monomer matrix is ??composed of urethane dimethacrylate and other methacrylate monomers. Inorganic fillers are ytterbium trifluoride and mixed spheroidal oxide. Initiators, stabilizers and pigments are additional ingredients.

The particle size is 0.04-0.2 µm. The average particle size 0.1 µm.

The total volume of the inorganic fillers is approx. 38%.

Indications:

Permanent adhesive cementation of composite, lithium disilicate glass ceramic and glass ceramic restorations (inlays, onlays and veneers)

Use only Variolink Esthetic LC for restorations less than <2mm thick that have sufficient translucency (eg, restorations made of IPS e.max® HT).

Contraindications:
The application of Variolink Esthetic is contraindicated in the following cases: If a dry working field cannot be established or the stipulated working procedure cannot be applied;

If the patient is known to be allergic to any of the ingredients in Variolink Esthetic.

Side effects:
To date, no systemic side effects are known. In individual cases, allergic reactions to some of its components have been reported.

Interactions: Phenolic substances (such as eugenol, wintergreen oil) inhibit polymerization.

Therefore, the application of products containing these components, such as mouthwash and temporary Cements, should be avoided.

Disinfectants with an oxidative effect (eg hydrogen peroxide) can interact with the initiator system which in turn can affect the polymerization process. Therefore, do not disinfect the preparation and the syringe using oxidizing agents. Disinfection can be carried out, for example, by rubbing with medical alcohol.

Alkaline jets applied to the dentin (eg air flow) can compromise the effect of self-etch adhesives.

Haemostatic substances can prevent polymerization and / or lead to discoloration. Therefore, the indications for the use of these substances must be respected.
