SPLINT MATERIAL
PRO-FORM SPLINT MATERIAL is a CLEAR, stiff thermoplastic vacuum-form sheet engineered for surgical splints, hard occlusal splints, thin orthodontic retainers, surgical guide trays, and bleaching trays. The MATERIAL's high stiffness gives the finished appliance the rigidity needed for surgical positioning and bruxism control, while remaining thin enough for patient comfort. The CLEAR formulation accepts adhesive bonding to acrylics, allowing the lab to extend the appliance with self-cure or light-cure acrylic for occlusal contacts, anchorage features, or hybrid designs.
Available in a thickness range from .020" (0.5 mm) through .120" (3 mm) in 5×5 inch sheet format, 25 Sheets per package. Compatible with every mainstream vacuum-forming machine in the lab.

PRO-FORM SPLINT MATERIAL is an intra-oral medical-grade thermoplastic manufactured by Keystone Industries. The MATERIAL is biocompatible per relevant ISO 10993 evaluations and FDA-registered for use in custom dental appliances. Supplied non-sterile; appliances must be cleaned and disinfected before patient delivery.
Heating & forming. Place the sheet centered in the vacuum-former chuck. Bring the heater to working temperature — for stiff SPLINT MATERIAL, typical heat-soak is 6–8 minutes on a standard lab vacuum-former (longer than soft EVA Sheets, because the MATERIAL is denser). Drape down when the sheet bows 3–5 mm. Activate vacuum immediately. Do not wait until the sheet sags more than 1 cm or it is already overheated and will form thin spots.
Trimming & finishing. Score with a sharp blade and snap; or trim with a fissure carbide on a slow-speed handpiece. Smooth the gingival border. For occlusal build-ups, etch the surface with a sandblaster (50 µm aluminum oxide) before bonding self-cure acrylic.
