Heads up! 📦 No shipments will be going out until Thursday, the 26th.
We'll be back to our regular shipping schedule then. Thanks for your understanding!
AMALGAM Waste is found within the dental practice. Even if a dental practice claims to be AMALGAM free, composite only, they can still generate Waste AMALGAM from removed teeth and from chairside and vacuum pump traps. SOLMETEX provides a DOT/EPA approved storage and shipping container with prepaid return shipping and certificate of recycling.
AMALGAM Buckets are for the recycling of chair-side traps, leftover or spent AMALGAM, removed teeth with AMALGAM fillings, empty AMALGAM capsules, and vacuum trap containers located by the vacuum pump. All of these contain AMALGAM residue.
Why does your office need the Practice Waste Solutions AMALGAM Bucket?
The EPA “Dental Rule” requires dental offices to use AMALGAM Buckets, as defined in the ADA’s Best Management Practices, for the storage and Disposal of all items that come in contact with AMALGAM.
Practice Waste Solutions AMALGAM Buckets by SOLMETEX™ is the solution. And Recycling is included in the cost of the AMALGAM bucket. No additional fees and no contracts.
The terms "Lead bucket" and "collection chamber" in the context of a dental AMALGAM separator system like SOLMETEX refer to different SYSTEMS with specific functions:
Lead Bucket:
This term is sometimes informally used to describe a component of the AMALGAM separator system.but works ABSOLUTELY DEPARATED FROM AMALGAM SEPARATOR. IT IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE SEPARATOR
It refers to a container that holds and collects heavier materials, possibly including Lead, but more commonly AMALGAM Waste which contains mercury and other metals.
The primary purpose is to safely contain hazardous materials until they can be properly disposed of, in compliance with environmental regulations.
Collection Chamber:
This is a component of the AMALGAM separator system designed to capture and temporarily hold the AMALGAM particles and other debris.
It's a part of the filtration process where the debris is separated from the wastewater.
The collection chamber is usually located ( used ) before the Lead bucket ( or final containment component) , playing a critical role in the initial phase of separation.
After the collection chamber is filled, you have 2 options :
1 ) Buy a new collection chamber and send back to SOLMETEX the old one ( filled ) to be safely disposed
2) Empty the collection chamber in the a bigger Lead bucket and later on after several loops, dispose the bucket safely
The existence of a Lead BUCKET is a legal obligation in EACH CHAIR
In the SOLMETEX system, these components work together to efficiently and safely separate AMALGAM Waste from the wastewater produced during dental procedures. The collection chamber serves as the initial collection point, while the "Lead bucket" or its equivalent is where the Waste is ultimately stored until Disposal.
