METREX offers a range of MetriCide high-level disinfectants designed for reprocessing medical instruments, particularly those sensitive to heat. The primary types include:
MetriCide: A 2.5% glutaraldehyde solution suitable for sterilizing and high-level disinfecting various medical devices. It can be reused for up to 14 days and is recommended for lensed instruments like flexible and rigid scopes.
MetriCide 28: Similar to MetriCide but formulated for extended reuse, maintaining efficacy for up to 28 days. It contains surfactants and is intended for use with immersible and heat-sensitive equipment and instruments.
Metricide PLUS 30: This variant includes surfactants and is designed for use in a tray system with various noncritical, semi-critical, and critical devices. It can be reused for up to 28 days and is recommended for immersible and heat-sensitive equipment and instruments.
MetriCide OPA Plus: A glutaraldehyde-free solution with ortho-phthalaldehyde as the active ingredient. It's suitable for both manual and automated reprocessing of heat-sensitive semi-critical medical devices. When used manually, it disinfects in 12 minutes at 20°C and can be reused for up to 30 days. In an automated endoscope reprocessor (AER), it disinfects in 5 minutes at 25°C and can be reused for up to 14 days.
Each MetriCide product is tailored to specific reprocessing needs, offering flexibility in disinfection protocols.
