Description
The W5 Max is DEPRAG’s 5-axis Milling machine for dry and wet machining. DEPRAG describe it as a machine that lets a laboratory manage one unit instead of several: one machine completes the processing of all materials, from zirconia and glass ceramics through PMMA, PEEK, wax and composite to titanium, CoCr and pre-milled blanks.
It is built around an 8-slot rotary automatic disc changer. Once the material has been clamped in its fixture and placed in the changer, the machine grabs it and begins working, so processing continues without an operator loading each disc. The changer and the tool magazine sit outside the working chamber, which DEPRAG state solves the problem of the changer and magazine being contaminated and difficult to clean; an optional automatic dry/wet switch module is available.
Calibration is handled by an industrial-grade probe head integrated into the working chamber. The calibration frequency is set on the machine, each axis is calibrated and compensated automatically within the system from the result, and the same probe locates prefabricated material such as pre-milled blanks. The body is cast iron and floor-mounted with a heavier base to reduce vibration, on a steel C-type B-axis.
What It Is For
This is the disc-changer model of the W5 line — a production Milling machine for a laboratory that mills metal as well as ceramic and polymer, and wants the machine to keep running between operator visits. DEPRAG publish these jobs for it:
- Crown and bridge, veneer, inlay and onlay
- Abutments, screw-retained bridges and implant bars from pre-milled blanks, titanium and CoCr
- Model cast, model tooth die, denture, telescopic and secondary crowns
- Occlusal splints, protrusion splints and surgical guides
