Description
ATTRITOR Dura-Wheels are diamond-impregnated synthetic-rubber polishing wheels engineered specifically for monolithic ZIRCONIA, lithium DISILICATE (eMax) and high-strength all-ceramic restorations. The 22 mm × 3 mm knife-edge wheel form is the dental laboratory's universal workhorse for occlusal contact adjustments, marginal blending, and pre-glaze surface refinement.
- ✓Diamond-impregnated synthetic rubber body — fresh abrasive continuously exposed through the wheel's life
- ✓22 mm × 3 mm knife-edge profile — the universal lab wheel for occlusal, interproximal, and marginal access
- ✓Color-coded grit system — Super-Coarse, Coarse, Medium, Fine, Super (high-shine)
- ✓Odorless Japanese rubber matrix — clean handling, no acrid smoke or carbon residue at speed
- ✓Indicated for monolithic ZIRCONIA, lithium DISILICATE (eMax), feldspathic porcelain and full-contour ceramics
✦Why You'll Love It
✦Take monolithic ZIRCONIA from contact-adjusted to glaze-equivalent shine without leaving the chair-side or bench-side handpiece — a true four-step (or five-step) finishing sequence in one product line.
✦Predictable, dust-free behavior at the recommended RPM — no chatter, no smoke, no diamond shedding that could embed in the restoration surface.
✦Color-coded body means the tech grabs the right grit on the first try — no second-guessing under loupes, no cross-contamination between grits.
✦Manufactured for long usable life per wheel — high diamond loading and even particle distribution mean the wheel cuts at hour 20 the way it cut at hour 1.
If You Are Looking For…
→Rough contour reduction and overbuilt-margin removal: Use the Super-Coarse grade (Grey or equivalent body color, MFG # B-series) — fastest stock removal in the line.
→Initial surface smoothing after rough contour: Use the Coarse grade (D3C) — removes Super-Coarse scratch pattern in 15–20 seconds per surface.
→Pre-glaze surface preparation, occlusal-contact polishing: Use the Medium grade (D3M, blue) — the most-purchased grit in the line.
Materials & Construction
Abrasive: refined synthetic diamond particle, high loading, evenly distributed through a synthetic rubber matrix.
Operating Speed & Use Guidance
Recommended operating range: 8,000–15,000 RPM in a straight handpiece (HP).
Stay within the manufacturer's published envelope. Excessive RPM heats the rubber matrix, accelerates diamond shedding, and shortens usable wheel life dramatically. Light, intermittent pressure produces a better finish than forced contact at high speed.
Sterilization & Handling
- ✓Autoclavable to 134 °C following standard dental-laboratory steam sterilization cycles
- ✓Pre-cleaning: brush off restoration residue under running water before sterilization to preserve abrasive surface
