KEYSTONE large-Shank tungsten Carbide Burs are designed for heavy bulk reduction on a lab bench lathe or oversize Laboratory handpiece. The 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" lathe-style shanks are sized for the larger chucks of dedicated lab lathes — used by denture technicians for fast bulk acrylic trimming, partial-framework reduction, and prosthesis adjustment where a small 3/32" HP bur would be too slow and would dull too quickly.

These are HP-class Burs (lab bench / lathe use only) — they will not fit a straight 3/32" handpiece chuck and are absolutely not appropriate for intraoral use. The clinical work-end is intraoral FG Burs; HP lathe Burs are bench-side production tools.

• Large lathe-style shanks. 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" — sized for dedicated lab bench lathes and oversize Laboratory handpieces.
• Aggressive bulk-removal geometry. Cross-cut and coarse flute patterns for fast denture-base and partial-framework reduction.

How to use

Mounting. Verify the lathe collet matches the bur's Shank diameter. Seat the bur fully into the collet before tightening. Spin briefly at low RPM with the guard down to verify true running before applying to the workpiece.

Operating. Use the lathe's recommended RPM for the material — typically 5,000–10,000 RPM for denture acrylic, slower for chrome-cobalt. Apply light pressure; Carbide cuts on its own. Heavy side-loading or prying risks fracturing the cutting edges.
