Overview

Mizzy Heatless Wheels are KEYSTONE's classic separating discs for the dental laboratory bench — aluminum-oxide abrasive bonded into thin wheels that run dry (no water coolant needed), cut fast, and don't transfer contamination to the workpiece. They are the workhorse abrasive disc for sectioning gold and chrome-cobalt castings, splitting investment, trimming sprues, and parting metal components on the bench-lathe or HP straight handpiece.

Mizzy is KEYSTONE's traditional brand for laboratory rotary abrasives; the Heatless line has been in production for decades and remains the reference standard against which other separating discs are compared. Numbered #1 through #15+ in graduated diameters and thicknesses for everything from fine detail cuts to heavy framework sectioning.

• Non-contaminating bond. Will not transfer abrasive carrier into precious metal alloys — critical for gold and platinum-group castings.

Mizzy Heatless Wheels are laboratory bench tools, not intraoral medical devices. Intended for use by dental technicians on lab handpieces and bench lathes. Manufactured by KEYSTONE Industries.

How to use

Mounting. Mount the Heatless wheel on a 3/32" HP shank screw-mandrel; tighten securely. Spin briefly at low RPM before applying to the workpiece to verify true running and no wobble.

Operating. Apply light pressure with the disc edge to the workpiece — the aluminum-oxide bond cuts on its own. Do not side-load the disc (do not use the disc face as a grinder); side-loading risks fracturing the disc and creating projectile fragments. Always wear safety glasses and use a bench-lathe guard.

Replacement. Discard the disc when it has worn down past its safe operating diameter, or earlier if it shows any radial cracking. Heatless wheels are consumables — running them to fracture is dangerous.
