DIODE lasers wavelengths in the 810–1,100 nm range are poorly absorbed by the soft tissues such as the gingiva. So it cannot be used for soft tissue cutting or ablation directly. Instead, the distal end of fiber tip is charred (by burned ink or by burned corkwood, etc.) and the char is heated by the 810-1,100 nm LASER beam, which in turn heats up the fiber tip. When the tissue temperature reaches 110 ℃ due to the contact of the fiber tip, soft tissue will have vaporization because of the thermal effect. PERIODONTICS

Periodontal disease is a kind of chronic oral disease caused by a bacterial infection. If it is not treated well for a long time, it will affect the life of the teeth. Scaling and root planning are two of the most common traditional treatments which is complicated and takes long time to recover. Also most patients experience some degree of bleeding during the standard DENTAL procedure, and this allows bacteria from your mouth to enter your bloodstream, and thus the rest of your body. Oral bacteria have been linked to heart disease, and low birth weight in newborn babies. These treatments are traditionally completed using metal tools that can cause significant irritation and damage to soft tissue. Now LASER treatment makes these procedures completely painless, reduces risk for infection, and promotes complete, comfortable healing.  SOLASE DIODE LASER 

LASER treatment for periodontal disease is very simple and quick. Because of the bactericidal effect, LASER treatment reduces the amount of bacteria that would normally get into your bloodstream during a cleaning. When treating patients with periodontal disease, a LASER fiber tip will be introduced into the pocket and provide a bactericidal and detoxifying effect. During the treatment, there will be little bleeding or discomfort. Studies have shown that there is a remarkable reduction in the bacterium with the introduction of the LASER compared to that accomplished with deep scaling and root planning alone. When set to short pulses and moderate energy levels, the LASER can kill bacteria buried 3 mm deep in the soft tissue of the gums with minimal heating of the surrounding tissue. SOLASE DIODE LASER

Current techniques involve a broad spectrum approach utilizing hydrogen peroxide (20 – 35 %). The chemical reactions are accelerated by several energy sources which can be delivered to bleaching gel through plasma-arc, halogen lamp and LED lights. Now using LASER as an entire new energy sources, combined with corresponding bleaching gels, opened a way to the new millennium. Compared with traditional whitening methods, LASER whitening has 3 advantages. Firstly, whitening time is shorter for only 2-3 minutes, much less than 30-45 minutes of LED light bleaching. Secondly, there is lower teeth sensitivity, while LED light whitening has a strong acid swelling reaction. Thirdly, LASER tooth whitening has a better effect and can last for longer time.

LASER tooth whitening achieves the ultimate power bleaching process without any morphological and chemical changes to enamel and surrounding tissue. The role of LASER in teeth whitening is to accelerate the activation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in whitening gels. In reaction to the absorption of LASER energy, the hydrogen peroxide breaks down into particle of water and radical of oxygen. The free radical oxygen chemically reduces larger organic-pigmented molecules (the chromophores) in the enamel matrix into smaller, less pigmented constituents by rapid oxidation. At same time LASER heating of the bleaching agent will lead to deeper pigment bleaching by increased penetration into the subsurface dentin to enhance whitening effect. SOLASE DIODE LASER

Since radiation emitted by low-power lasers has shown analgesic, anti-inflammatory and healing properties, they have been widely used in the process of tissue repair, for their wavelength and low densities of energy can penetrate tissues. SOLASE DIODE LASER 

Therapeutic lasers do not have a direct healing effect. However, they act as an important pain-relieving agent providing the body with a better inflammatory response, as they help to reduce edema and minimize pain, in addition to promoting tissue repair of the injured region quite effectively through cellular biostimulation. SOLASE DIODE LASER 

LASER therapy, when used in tissues and cells, is not based on heating, that is, the energy of the absorbed photons is not transformed into heat, but into photochemical, photophysical and/or photobiological effects. When LASER light interacts with cells and tissues in an appropriate dosage, certain cell functions can be stimulated, among them are stimulation of lymphocytes, mast cell activation, increase of mitochondrial ATP production and proliferation of several types of cells, thus promoting anti-inflammatory effects.
