Overview

PRO-FORM Dual-Laminate MOUTHGUARD SHEETS are the workhorse vacuum-forming material for custom athletic MOUTHGUARDS, sports guards, and protective oral appliances. The dual-layer construction bonds a comfortable soft EVA interior to a tougher, harder outer layer that resists puncture and absorbs impact energy. The result is a single sheet that gives both patient comfort against the dentition and the durability athletes and night-grinders need.

Each sheet is engineered for use with industry-standard vacuum-forming machines and laminating presses. Available in single-color One-Color formulations across a wide thickness range — typically .080" (2 mm) through .200" (5 mm) — and in convenient pre-cut 5×5 SHEETS or larger 120 mm round blanks, with 12-pack and 25-pack quantities for high-volume labs.

Material & regulatory

PRO-FORM Dual-Laminate SHEETS are intra-oral medical-grade thermoplastics manufactured by Keystone Industries. Materials are biocompatible per relevant ISO 10993 evaluations and FDA-registered for use in custom dental appliances. SHEETS are supplied non-sterile; appliances must be cleaned and disinfected prior to patient delivery per the lab's standard operating procedure.

How to use

Heating & forming guidance. Place the sheet centered in the vacuum-former chuck. Bring the heater to working temperature (typical heat-soak 5–7 minutes on a standard lab vacuum-former — check your machine's calibration). Drape down when the sheet bows 3–5 mm in the middle — do not wait until it sags more than 10 mm or the sheet is already overheated. Activate vacuum before instinct says "now". For Dual-Laminate SHEETS, the firmer outer layer should face away from the model (toward the heater) so the soft EVA contacts the patient's dentition.

Trimming. Use sharp curved scissors or a trimming bur. Smooth the gingival border to avoid soft-tissue irritation. For night-grind splints, finish the occlusal surface with a light pumice slurry on a low-speed handpiece.
