Description

DIGITECH MONOLAYER is a partially-crystallized ("blue-state") LITHIUM Disilicate (LS₂) GLASS-ceramic CAD/CAM milling block, engineered for chairside and lab milling on Sirona CEREC platforms. The block is delivered in the soft pre-crystallization state — easy to mill, kind to the milling diamonds — and is then crystallized in a tabletop ceramic furnace per the manufacturer's firing program to develop the final ≈ 360 MPa flexural strength and final A-B-C-D shade. One-block-one-restoration economics for single-unit crowns, anterior veneers, inlays, onlays and small bridge units.

  • LITHIUM Disilicate (LS₂) CAD/CAM block — same material family as IPS e.max CAD from Ivoclar Vivadent.
  • Translucency level: Low Translucency (LT). Low Translucency adds opacity to mask underlying stump-shade discrepancies — preferred for posterior crowns and devitalized preparations.
  • VITA-classical shade BL1 after crystallization — A-B-C-D classical shade guide compatibility.
  • Block format: C14. C14 — large single-unit block sized for posterior crowns, premolars, and most anterior single-units.
  • Native compatibility: Sirona CEREC MC X, MC XL, Primemill (with appropriate holder); 3rd-party LS₂-compatible mills accepted.
  • Mill in the blue pre-crystallized state; crystallize in a dental ceramic furnace (Programat CS/CS2/CS3/CS4) per a two-stage program (typical 820–840 °C peak, 7–11 min hold).
  • Finishing: stain-and-glaze monolithic, or veneer the labial third with compatible LS₂ GLASS-ceramic.
  • Flexural strength after crystallization: ≈ 360–400 MPa biaxial.

Lab Workflow & Handling

1. Scan & Design
Acquire digital impression (CEREC AC, Primescan, Omnicam, or 3rd-party IOS). Design in CEREC SW or compatible CAD.
2. Mill
Mill the MONOLAYER block on CEREC MC X / MC XL / Primemill in standard LS₂ milling program.
3. Polish Margin
Pre-crystallization margin polish with fine diamond / silicone rubber wheels.
4. Crystallize
Crystallize in dental ceramic furnace (Programat CS series) per DIGITECH MONOLAYER firing schedule.
5. Finish
Monolithic: full-contour stain-and-glaze. Layered: cut back labial third + veneer with LS₂ ceramic.
6. Glaze
Final glaze firing per universal LS₂ glaze program.
7. Bond
HF etch (5%, 20 s) → silane → universal adhesive resin cement.
